Hands down, the quote that my clients and I have a love hate relationship with is “I’ll believe it when I see it”, roughly translated to “I’ll feel slim when I look in the mirror and see that I am slim”. Folded arms and a ‘don’t mess with me’ posture usually follow these defiant words and a moment’s comfortable silence follows for us both to reflect.

This is hastily softened when we exchange a knowing look as the penny drops and they hear for the first time what they are really saying and how this traps them within the reality they are now experiencing but so want to change.

The truth is it can be about anything, wanting to gain weight, balance hormones, reduce blood pressure or just wanting to experience more well-being, if you approach it with the attitude that you have to see this wanted improvement to believe and experience it then you are completely cutting yourself off from it. I know this is a change in the way we think, we live in a society which is evidence orientated where seeing is then the permission slip to believe and act accordingly, but by thinking and living this way we limit our experience and trap ourselves in our current state.

Belief should be our new permission slip, it will guarantee far more pleasure and desired states of health and well-being and lift our self imposed limits. Believing really is what will allow you to see; if you believe then you will gift yourself the ability to see what it is you want. If you want to feel slim, feel good feeling thoughts about your body and then believe this slimness can easily become your reality, this is the formula for allowing the change that you want in your physical body whatever it is you want to improve.

So how can we facilitate this ‘believing’ frame of mind? Feeling positive is a great start and the food we eat can powerfully affect how we feel, on all levels, so by consciously choosing foods that enhance your ability to feel good you can really increase your state of positivity and your believing power!

Foods that are alive promote life and living energy within you and this allows you to feel increased vital life force, this is incredible for your feel good potential. So begin choose living foods, foods that have zest and vitality oozing out of them, vibrant colours and freshness all of which is ready to lift your vibration and dust away the cobwebs of negativity.

Blueberries, dark chocolate (cacao), brazil nuts, flaxseeds, mangoes, bananas, sweet potatoes, quinoa and whole grains like brown rice and oats are all foods that can help to lift your mood and help you to feel more positive. But finally, choosing to consciously eat foods that you really enjoy and feel good eating is a very powerful way to increase your endorphins and feel good vibes. But it needs to feel good before, during eating and after to have the effect so no feeling guilty after you have polished off your dark chocolate! I’ve been telling you for ages that it’s as good medicine anyway so enjoy and feel good!
